$295The Holzbau Pacific Northwest Conference held on February 23 – 24, 2017, will be the first in a series of four events running between February 23 to March 6, 2017 as part of the Forest Innovation Investment (FII) – Wood Week BC event.
In Europe, the hugely successful “HolzBau Forum” (“holzbau” means “wood construction” in German) has become the world’s largest annual conference event in its field, held for 22 years each December in southern Germany and attracting around 1500 architects, engineers, manufacturers and construction professionals. Holzbau events are now held in Italy, France, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe, with many focusing on specialist topics such as passive homes, timber bridges, and others. In 2017, a collaboration between UBC Centre for Advanced Wood Processing, Oregon State University College of Forestry, University of Northern British Columbia and FPInnovations will launch an annual Pacific Northwest version of the conference series here on home shores.
